Who we want:
The Outreach department seeks interns with strong written and in-person communication skills who can think strategically and harness their specific skills to deepen engagement with current IT’S TIME TEXAS supporters and raise awareness of the cause.  We also seek interns with very strong organizational skills and abilities. Our events provide individuals and families with fun, interactive learning opportunities, and introduce community members to the benefits of living active, healthy lifestyles. Interns will have the opportunity to assist in the development and promotion of IT’S TIME TEXAS and the spectrum of programs/events that positively affect the health of Texans. The purpose of these projects is not only to help improve IT’S TIME TEXAS’ impact on the community, but also to provide valuable knowledge and experience to the intern’s education and career aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:
▪      Work directly with and provide support to the Outreach Coordinator
▪      Contribute to regional outreach strategy for events, initiatives, and programs
▪      Act as a liaison between the organization and vendors including negotiating pricing and pre-selecting options to present to the organization while maintaining budget for the event
▪      Assist internal teams with equipment and promotional planning and logsitcs
▪      Help collect and analyze data from our outreach opportunities across the organization as a whole
▪      Work with Outreach Coordinator to plan and implement IT’S TIME TEXAS’ participation at local community events

What you’ll bring:
▪       Sophomore, Junior, or Senior working toward a Bachelors’ degree in public relations, health promotion, public health, communication studies, or related field
▪       Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and leverage resources accordingly
▪       Ability and willingness to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision
▪       Professional demeanor and outstanding phone etiquette
▪       Familiarity with Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and SurveyMonkey, a plus
