It’s Time Texas is growing, and we need smart, passionate, purpose-driven people to join our team. Here’s our truth: we’re ambitious, we’re different, we’re going all in on building a culture of health in Texas. To do this, we are organizing a social movement around the core value that Texas is best when Texans are healthy. By working with partners and supporters throughout the state, we are changing behaviors, practices, and policies to make healthy living central to what it means to be a Texan. Sound good so far?

Who We Need:
We operate a diverse portfolio of programs, initiatives, and events, and need an experienced leader to oversee and support our programs delivery team. We are looking for a dynamic, disciplined leader to guide the planning, organizing, operating, and staffing of all programs. The ideal candidate is a relator who likes people and fosters a culture of teamwork. This person is also resourceful, decisive, and focused on performance. Working closely with our executive team, the Senior Programs Team Lead is responsible for day-to-day management of program operations and leading the programs team to achieve our goals and strategic vision. As the team leader, this person has a critical role in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing staff. In addition to managing the team, one of the major responsibilities of the role is managing our SNAP-Ed contract and other major contracts/grants. This requires keen attention to detail and polish in effectively communicating results and outcomes for grants, contracts, and proposals. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong experience in public or community health programming who enjoys leading teams in accomplishing ambitious goals.
Who You Are:
  • Mission focused. You’re committed to supporting the mission of It’s Time Texas, and don’t shy away from challenges as you work toward successful results.

  • Experienced. This isn’t the first time you’ve managed a team or a large contract/grant. You’re confident in your abilities, have learned some important lessons, and can navigate challenges calmly and professionally.
What You’ll Bring:
  • 8-10 years of nonprofit/program delivery experience, with at least 4 years in a team management role
  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree in nonprofit management, public/community health, or related field a plus
