Who we want:
The Community Program and Events department seeks interns with strong written and in-person communication skills who can think strategically and harness their specific skills to deepen engagement with current IT’S TIME TEXAS supporters and raise awareness of the cause. Interns will have the opportunity to assist in the development and promotion of the Community Challenge and Regional Workshops. The purpose of these projects is not only to help improve IT’S TIME TEXAS’ impact on the community, but also to provide valuable knowledge and experience to the intern’s education and career aspirations. This position requires availability of some weekend and weeknight hours.
Key responsibilities:
·      Work directly with and provide support to the Director of Community Events and Programs.
·      Contribute to regional outreach strategy for events, initiatives, and programs
·      Act as a liaison between the organization and vendors including negotiating pricing and pre-selecting options to present to the organization while maintaining budget for the event
·      Perform market research of businesses and organizations for outreach and to build new strategic partnerships
·      Update attendee registration, seating information, and related data entry
·      Assist with analyzing event data and contributing to program/initiative updates

What you’ll bring:
·   Sophomore, Junior, or Senior working toward a Bachelors’ degree in public relations, health promotion, marketing, business administration, communication studies, or related field   
·   Minimum of 3.0 GPA
·   Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and leverage resources accordingly
·   Ability and willingness to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision
·   Professional demeanor and outstanding phone etiquette
·   Familiarity with Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and SurveyMonkey, a plus
